Acquia/Drupal installation
I thought I would document my experience trying out Acquia's instance of Drupal which comes with some extra modules and network support not in a standard installation of Drupal. My initial foray has not been easy as one might hope it to be. I hosted on a Godaddy shared server account and every time I've had an issue I end up going to both Godaddy and to Acquia for support. Sadly I couldn't even get past the admin section of this first attempt without a server error which the Godaddy folks explained as the admin folder not being in the Drupal install. I don't know if this is accurate. AAARRGGHHH.
Well regardless I am soldiering on and still feel like I'm a great candidate for the Acquia version as their effort seems focused on easing Drupal's installation process.
I'll report back after I blow away the first instance and begin with a clean slate.
Hope this helps and I'll try not to whine too loudly to my great Drupal homies here in NC!

GoDaddy Hosting
Hey Steve,
Still need to get up with you on the podcasting!
I have used GoDaddy for domain registration and they are great and have heard similar feedback regarding domain registration.
Hosting with GoDaddy, however, I have heard not so good things.
Let me know if you want to get together and try to tackle your install. I haven't done any Acquia installs but have done many vanilla Drupal 6.x installs.
GoDaddy tech support
I have a domain on GoDaddy that is hosted elsewhere, and when I tried to point the domain to the host they gave me completely incorrect information about how to do it.
Same Experience with Domain Name Server
Yeah, GoDaddy's instructions on creating a custom domain name server are (or were when I was trying to do it) completely inadequate.
However, I have found that once you get your domains and servers set up, GoDaddy is very very fast in redirecting your domain to your new DNS. I mean it happens almost in seconds.
