Acquia/drupal installation complete

So I was successful at doing a reinstall of the Acquia package of Drupal on the Godaddy server. It wasn't too ugly an affair but it took a good hour and I had messed it up a time or 2 before, so I had some vague recollections of what to do when things went south. I considered doing a Mamp install on a Mac to use as development ground but I like living on the edge so on with the live show.......
I took some screenshots along the way, in the event that anyone might find them useful. I'd be happy to post them but don't know if this is the best spot. Any advice? I noticed that Judy put some content on the NCcommunities page which I was unaware of until I saw her post. Let me know mayb,e here is the best place, I'm looking for guidance. I have about 12 screen shots noting each of the steps necessary to complete the installation.

Images

I've posted 2 images but they don't seem to be making the trip. I'll hold off on the others until I get some help on how best to proceed.

Try again. I just upload the img_filter module, a quick and dirty image posting module. I deleted what you had uploaded to clear everything out.

Second round of images.......

I've just uplaoded 1 image this time and saved my edited post, but no joy. Any ideas?

Steve, I just tested it out with an image and it worked. Are you sure you clicked "Attach" after choosing your file.

If you did and it still didn't work I'll have to investigate further.

Getting there

I have posted 3 of the images and they show in the post. However, when I click on them they don't expand, instead the file name is noted but an "X" is in it's place. They are rather small as listed in the post so I'll hold off putting up more until we fix the viewing part up. Thanks for your efforts. I hope my images can be of help. But if not this has been a good exercise none the less.

"#" in file name is causing

"#" in file name is causing the problem, I think.

I renamed a couple of the files with out the "#" in the file name and it seems to work.

I thought that might be the problem before but for some reason thought that might be ridiculous. Apparently not.

Delete the pics, rename them and give it one more shot :) We shall not be defeated.

Acquia Image success

That did the trick. Poor naming convention on my part. Check that lesson! I had intended to have text by each image but I can reference them later if I ever present. Thanks for all and here;'s to more photos in due time. So dissappointed to have missed the last meeting.

I don't see a way to upload images

I don't see "image" as a content type. And I don't see a way to include an image in a blog post. Don't you need the image module? (It's not listed as one of your added modules.)

Judy, For temporary purposed

Judy, For temporary purposed I used the img_filter module that allows image uploads, it can be found under "File Attachments" at the bottom of blog entries.

After you choose your file(s)/image(s) be sure to click "Attach" to upload it.

I'd like to know more about what modules people are using to upload and display images. I'll have to check out image module.

Image modules I'm using

On two sites, I'm using:

  • Image
    • Image Attach
    • Image Gallery
  • Image Assist
  • Image Filter

I have some instructions at http://www.ibiblio.org/comphist/help

I'm using the same modules on a private site for my family and my family members have been able to figure out how to include photos in blog posts.

I may be using more modules than I need, but what I have works.

Uploads and lightbox added

Uploads and lightbox added and enabled. You should try to upload your screen shots on this blog post. I set the dimension to 800x800 and files size to 250K. If you can make them small than that all the better.

Test it out, see if it works.

You should do an overview of

You should do an overview of Acquia at the next Meetup. It would be good for people to see and know what's it's all about.
